Each year Hill and Dale holds a silent auction, dinner, and dance to raise money for the school's tuition reduction program. For one night the whole school leaves the kids at home and gets together to have a big party. It is a full community effort, with parents volunteering to help set up, tend bar, MC, and do cleanup afterwards. Parents and educators also donate items or solicit donations from local business to be auctioned off. Even the children get involved by creating fun items at the centers such as a quilt and a painted table and chairs that get auctioned and raffled off. Along with the annual giving drive, the Silent Auction is one of the biggest fundraisers for the school. It is a celebratory and festive event, with a different theme each year-- past themes have been a James Bond inspired "007-- you only bid twice", "Pirate's Ball", and the "Roaring '20's".

The event raises a significant amount of money toward the tuition reduction program-- in years past, we've raised over $30,000-- but just as importantly, it gives us all a great reason to come together as a community and have fun.
