Hill & Dale for many years has been a learning center for children that encourages them to be outdoors and to explore, discover and play in nature. Our programs are located in or near city parks and the children have daily opportunities to run and play in those parks. We also have recycled materials and the children have used "trashables"” to create with and to use as loose parts to build their own play environments. Gardening is very important in our curriculum and the children plant, water and collect vegetables that grow in our gardens.

To expand our commitment to sustaining our earth, this year we are working with Sustainable Works of Santa Monica. We hope from this connection to learn more ways that we can protect our environment and encourage parents in our community to recycle and to develop sustainable patterns of consumption.
