Youth Mentor Program
The Hill & Dale Youth Mentor Program was set up mainly for Hill & Dale graduates; however, some non-Hill & Dale graduates also participate from Westside area elementary, junior high, and high schools that offer volunteer or community service programs for their students. This program provides these students with a place to fulfill their community service hours. The philosophy behind the program is based on research that supports mixed-age learning environment for young children and shows that children who interact with people at different levels of development learn empathy, caring, and how to share ideas. Early Childhood Education Program

Hill & Dale provides a learning environment for ECE students that are enrolled in classes at Santa Monica College, Cal State LA, LA Trade Tech, Northridge, UCLA and Venice Skill Clinic. We have provided this service to the community for over 25 years. Paired with experienced Hill & Dale staff educators who will mentor them during their time here, ECE students learn while working at one of the Centers. Hill & Dale has a number of educators who have taken mentoring classes at Santa Monica or UCLA and are themselves willing to mentor ECE students. First Five and other state programs provide funds supporting teacher stipends for the program. (read more)
